The Chronicle of Michael the Great, translated into English by Robert Bedrosian based on the two main Classical Armenian editions of the text.
The Chronicle of Michael the Great begins with creation and continues to the year 1195. It was written over the course of fifty years, and the various parts were assembled while Michael was Patriarch of the Syrian Orthodox Church. Warfare, confiscation of property, enslavement and killing are constant features. Biblical personalities rub shoulders with figures from Greek mythology, religions appear and give birth to others, and unexplained phenomena enliven the skies.
